Nustone is a UK-based premium natural stone and porcelain paving supplier, selling to both retail homeowners and trade buyers across multiple countries. The product range covers Indian Sandstone, Porcelain, Granite, Limestone, and Slate Paving across a wide variety of finishes, sizes, and project specifications. The business operates across B2C and B2B channels simultaneously, with trade customers requiring quote workflows, custom pricing, and bulk order handling that retail customers do not need. Fast UK delivery and a broad catalog covering both aesthetic and structural project requirements sit at the centre of the Nustone offer.
Before the digital build, Nustone handled a large portion of its operations manually. Orders, quotes, customer records, and product data for each country it sold into were managed separately, by hand. No centralised system held it together.
The problems stacked up quickly. Accepting orders and payments in multiple currencies was complicated, matching incoming payments to previously issued quotes was error-prone, and dispatching the right quantities against those quotes was harder still.
The product itself added another layer. Paving is sold by area. A customer with a 45m² garden does not instinctively know how many crates of stone to order or what the delivered price will be. Without a digital calculator, customers called in or guessed, and guessing led to short orders, overage returns, and customer service overhead.
B2B buyers had their own unmet needs. Trade customers needed a registration path that recognised them as business accounts, unlocked exclusive pricing, and let them submit formal quote requests rather than going to checkout. None of that existed. Every B2B interaction was handled offline.
Tiles IT Solutions built Nustone a full WooCommerce platform on WordPress, architected to serve retail and trade buyers across multiple countries from a single backend.
The first priority was the custom paving calculator. Customers enter their area in square metres, and the calculator works out the exact slab quantity, the number of crates needed, and the total price. This removed the most common source of incorrect orders. Customers arrive at checkout knowing exactly what they are buying.
B2B and B2C were separated at the registration level. Trade buyers register through a dedicated path that flags their account for exclusive discount tiers and unlocks a Request a Quote workflow. A trade customer can submit a formal quote for a large landscaping project, receive a priced response, and convert it to an order without the transaction ever leaving the platform.
Klarna was integrated to give retail customers a Buy Now Pay Later option, removing the upfront cost barrier on larger paving orders. PayPal sits alongside for buyers who prefer it. Zoho Inventory was connected to synchronise stock across online and offline channels, so availability on the website reflects actual warehouse stock in real time.
Trustpilot integration pulls verified customer reviews directly onto product pages. Mailchimp handles post-purchase and promotional email sequences. Country-based shipping restrictions ensure buyers in each region see only the delivery options relevant to them, with pricing and currency adjusting accordingly.
The implementation hurdle was multi-currency order matching. Nustone had been issuing quotes in one currency and sometimes receiving payment in another, with reconciliation done manually. We structured WooCommerce's multi-currency setup so every quote, order, and payment is logged in the currency it was issued in, with conversion tracked at the transaction level. Reconciliation became automatic.
Before: Every order for each country was handled manually. Quote matching, payment reconciliation, B2B pricing, and dispatch quantities all required staff to manage each transaction individually. Customers could not calculate what they needed before calling in. Trade buyers had no self-service path. The business was growing but the operational overhead was growing faster.
After: Retail customers calculate their area, see the exact crate count and price, and check out with Klarna or PayPal without speaking to anyone. Trade buyers register on a dedicated B2B path, access exclusive pricing, and submit quote requests through the platform. Stock syncs automatically from Zoho. Shipping options and currencies adjust by country. The team handles exceptions, not every transaction.
When a customer can calculate exactly what they need, pay how they prefer, and trust the stock availability they see on screen, the friction that stops large outdoor paving orders from completing disappears. That is what this build did for Nustone.
